  • Scientific duties include contributions to an assessment of risks, benefits and uncertainties associated with overshoot pathways, notably large-scale CDR (and potentially SRM) deployment and pace of temperature reversal; contributions to the development of a taxonomy of the identified risks in order to enable a characterization of overshoot pathways, to be fed into the dashboard; research into land use change implications of large-scale CDR deployment, with the aim to develop additional analysis producing biodiversity-sensitive land use maps for CDR deployment
  • personal scientific qualification (doctorate)




  • MSc or MA in any field related to interdisciplinary climate change research;
  • good understanding of quantitative methods and risk and uncertainty analysis or an interest to develop these skills
  • Active interest in CDR (and possibly SRM) technologies and their role in climate change mitigation
  • Some experience in data analysis, preferably having worked with climate pathways before
  • Willingness to travel for work up to 3 times per year (project meetings, workshops, conferences)
  • Strong motivation and good organisational skills
  • Team orientation
  • Written and oral fluency in English
